Paying for carpet cleaning, drying and repair
Most carpet jobs are paid on the day. A few are not small: a flooded house, a whole-home clean before a sale, a pad replacement, a property manager's month of turnovers. Here is how payment works, who covers what, and the ways to spread a larger bill.
On the day
Cleaning, treatment, stretching and repair are paid when the work is done, by card, check or bank transfer, at the price written before the job started. Rugs collected for washing are paid when they are returned. Nothing is charged for the look-over or the written price.
Larger jobs
A whole-home deep clean with pet treatment and pad replacement, or a wet-carpet job with several days of drying equipment, can run into four figures. For those we can connect you with third-party financing that spreads the cost into fixed monthly payments; the lender sets approval, rates and terms, not us. Ask when the price is written and we include the details with it.
Insurance and wet carpet
Sudden plumbing failures such as a burst supply line, a failed water heater or an overflowing appliance are often covered by homeowners or renters insurance, less the deductible. Slow leaks, groundwater and rising floodwater usually are not. Photograph everything before it is touched, call your carrier early, and we supply moisture readings, photographs and an itemised invoice for the claim. We document; the carrier decides coverage, and we do not absorb deductibles.
Tenants, deposits and landlords
If a lease requires professional carpet cleaning at move-out, the tenant usually pays and keeps the receipt to protect the deposit. If a landlord is cleaning between tenants, the invoice goes to the landlord or the property manager, one per unit, so it can be charged against a deposit or expensed. For pet-clause disputes, our receipt records what the UV inspection found and what was done, so the conversation is about facts.
Military moves
Move-out cleaning for a permanent change of station is normally paid by the departing family. Keep the receipt with your clearing paperwork; some housing arrangements and some relocation allowances reimburse cleaning costs, and your housing office or finance office can tell you whether yours does. We do not advise on allowances, only on carpet.
Property managers
Managers with several doors a month get turnover pricing, a standing slot and one invoice per unit, payable on terms agreed up front rather than on the day.
